Gina Rose, Moowah Princess Storyteller

June 20th, 2008,  a Friday

Once in the land of Moowah, there was a boy of the most extraordinary value.  He was schooled in all of the Noowee games, but excelled without explanation in the art of Jambah.  Otherwise ordinary, the very first time he was placed on the board, he knew exactly what to do, where to go, and how to reach the final square.  The others were very hard on him as is often the case against toomahs of exceptional ability.

He mondulated every day about why he had been given such a gift when it was only a game that kept him in an isolated world, lonely and without friends.  His mother, Poolam, loved him and reassured him that the Gods of Delusia always had a divine plan and Prender must be patient and have faith that his purpose and his special talent would one day be realized.

The only time Prender was truly happy was when he stepped onto the Jambah board.  He felt an electricity within him that directed his legs, ignited his intuition, and imbued him with enormous stamina and power.  He never paid attention to the other players, hardly noticing their position on the board.  His connection was to the Jambah itself, not to the winning.  Once the gate was locked, there was no escape until the game was complete.  He loved the feeling of becoming one with the board in a world completely set apart from everything outside.  He dreaded the completion of the game when he would revert to his plain, pitiful self again.

In the spring of the year of Namka, a dark shadow came over the land.  Thousands of nodulators from the Rolta side invaded Moowah and war broke out.  The armies were perfectly matched and neither claimed victory.  After the death of thousands, it was decided at a joint meeting of the Highest Counsels that the war would be settled by one match of Jambah.  Each kingdom would select their best player and all hopes would ride on the chosen one.  The representatives of Counselor Chomp arrived at Prender's door.  Poolam knew they would take him as Moowah's best hope to win the war.  Prender cowered behind his mother, begging her to protect him from such an enormous responsibility.  But Poolam knew that her son must accept his fate, assuring him that she believed in him.

He was taken to the Gamuchadee where he was prepared for the match.  Wearing the colors of Moowah, purple and tangerine, he sat silently while many citizen knights buzzed around him, each trying to find the precise words that would insure his important victory.  He was marched to the huge gates and led inside, facing his opponent for the first time.  The gates were pushed closed and the only sound was the clank of the lock.  Prender took a deep breath to summon the electricity that always charged through his body on the board but he felt nothing.  A panic took him over.

"Wake up, you will be late for school".  He opened his eyes to see his mother's face, urging him to get up.  "You must have been dreaming", she said with a smile.
